The Psalmist here asks a question, what man desires life, not just any life but the good life and wants to see not some days but many ‘good’ days. That should be everyone’s desire. There is a way we can obtain it, it’s reachable. The bible simply tells us, to keep our tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. It’s simple. The remedy for a good life, is a healthy tongue. Death and life are in the power of the tongue Proverbs 18: 21.
The psalmist knew you could have whatsoever you say and you should purpose in your to always speak life. In the midst of adversity, calamity and distress, when things aren't going your way, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile.
